We are hiring!  CPBC is looking for our next Music Minister.

The Minister of Music will:

  1. Provide the church with music for regular Sunday morning worship services.  This may include, but is not limited to, prelude, offertory, congregational hymns, anthem, praise team music, and postlude. 
  2. Provide direction for Wednesday evening choir and praise team rehearsals.  Rehearsals for solos, duets, etc. with church members will occur before or after Wednesday rehearsals or at another time suitable for all parties. 
  3. Coordinate and lead music for special worship services including Cantatas, Blue Christmas, Ash Wednesday, etc.  The annual salary includes up to five special services per year.
  4. Schedule permitting, the Minister of Music will lead music for funerals and weddings.  Compensation will be given for additional services (outside the allotted 5 included in the salary) at $100 per event (this includes rehearsal and performance time).   
  5. Oversee and direct the choir during rehearsals, Sunday morning worship, and special services.
  6. Oversee and direct the praise team, including choosing songs and creating a weekly schedule.
  7. Work with the pastoral staff in worship planning and leadership.
  8. Have a professional attitude and appropriate attire during worship services.
  9. Oversee and participate in the children’s and youth music programs, including coordinating with the VBS director to assist in leading music each night of Vacation Bible School as well as other special children’s music activities. 
  10. Oversee and coordinate the A/V team to include timely communications and planning, maintaining the weekly schedule, and producing/distributing the PowerPoint slides.


  1. The Minister of Music will have three (3) Sundays and three (3) Wednesdays (rehearsals) off per year.  All scheduled absences are to be coordinated with and approved by the Chair of the Church Administration Team at least three weeks in advance.  The Minister of Music is responsible for arranging substitute services.  Requests for additional time off will be coordinated with the Church Administration Chairman, including adjusted compensation, if appropriate.


  1. Salary will be $18,000 per year with the expectation of up to 20 hours of work per week.   The Minister of Music will be paid by direct deposit in accordance with standard pay date for all church staff.  The Minister of Music does not receive benefits other than leave.    The deadline for applying is July 31, 2019.  Please send your resume and cover letter to cpbccareers@gmail.com.
